NOTICE : Biolab Limited Has Gone Into Administration: 14th July 2022

Biolab Limited has gone into administration due to the delay by The Care Quality Commission in processing our application to transfer our business activities to our laboratory site in West London following an earlier temporary suspension.

We always remained highly confident that Biolab would reopen and invested heavily in relocating the business, retaining and retraining our employees, developing new and improved methods of work and updating our documentation, so this comes as a huge disappointment for us all, but as you’ll appreciate no business can continue indefinitely without an income.

We are no longer able to process any samples for testing.

Biolab is very proud of the help we have given to hundreds of thousands of patients over 37 years, and we thank everyone for their phenomenal support and loyalty over the years, and for the hundreds of messages of support we have received in recent months.

Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth – SIBO: Essential Gut Function Analysis

Normally the human small intestine contains fewer bacteria than the colon. Structural or functional disorders of the gastrointestinal tract can lead to bacterial overgrowth in the small intestine, with colonic bacteria proliferating in the ileum and jejunum. Small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), as it is known, is characterized by steatorrhea and diarrhoea, together with vitamin deficiencies and carbohydrate malabsorption. The syndrome is difficult to diagnose with accuracy using blood tests.

Toxic Chemicals Exposure Profile: 172 Different Toxic Chemicals


Because exposure to environmental pollutants has been linked to many chronic diseases, The Great Plains Laboratory has created GPL-TOX, a toxic organic exposure profile that screens for the presence of 172 different toxic chemicals including organophosphate pesticides, phthalates, benzene, xylene, vinyl chloride, pyrethrin insecticides, and others. This profile also includes Tiglyglycine (TG), a marker for mitochondrial disorders resulting from mutations of mitochondrial DNA. These mutations can be caused by exposure to toxic chemicals, infections, inflammation, and nutritional deficiencies.
