Markedly raised values found in obstructive liver disease and in the bone disease. In liver disease the enzymes gluttamyl transferase and 5'-nucleotidase are also raised, and are useful for differentiation from bone disease. Measurement of alkaline phosphatase isoenzymes gives more specfic differentiation.
